It is extremenly important that exhibitors make plans now to
ensure that any wine they intend to exhibit at the 2012 Show is in bottle
in time for it to be delivered to the Hobart venue by the due
date.
The number of bottles that must be supplied of each wine to be exhibited
varies depending on exhibition class as follows:
|
Classes
1-25
|
4 bottles |
|
Class 26 - Museum
Wines |
2 bottles |
The TWSS invites producers to submit an extra bottle of each exhibit, to
be used for the Exhibitors Tasting. These extra bottles should be labelled
"ET" and shipped with Wine Show exhibits in
December.
Most exhibits received for judging carry a commercial label. A
commercial label will be taken to adequately identify an exhibit.
Wine that does not bear a commercial label may be submitted. A clear
handwritten label is acceptable.
Minimum bottle labelling requirements are intended to ensure that
everybody connected with the Show is certain about the identity of wines
submitted for judging.
The label affixed to each bottle must provide the following information about
the contents:
The name of the exhibitor
The commercial
brand
Any other distinctive description of the
wine [e.g. 'Reserve']
The variety or varieties
from which the wine is made
The vintage year
[or 'NV']
The percentage by volume of alcohol
in the wine
This information should correspond with the information provided on the Entry
Form.
