 2008 Tasmanian Wine Show announced

The 18th Tasmanian Wine Show will be held in Launceston, Tasmania from 14 to 18 January 2008.

All classes in the Show are open to wines made from 100% Tasmanian  grapes.

The venue is  the Drysdale Institute of TAFE.

Information about how to enter your wines in the 2008 Tasmanian Wine Show is set out below.

 

Entries are invited from Tasmanian wine producers

Producers who intend to enter wines in the 2008 Show should download the following documents.

Please read these documents, to make sure you are aware of this year's requirments, which may be different from previous years.

Entries in the Show should be received by the Society no later than 30 November 2007. Payment should also be received by this date.

 

Submission of Wines

Wines shouild  be delivered to the venue by Friday, 7 December 2007.  

If one or more entries is not ready by 7 December, due to not being bottled or other reason, please make alternative arrangements for that wine with Phil Laing.

Before dispatch, every bottle of wine entered must be clearly labelled to identify the producer and the identity of the wine.  If the wine has not yet been labelled for sale, then the producer must afix a label indicating the producer's name, the vintage, varietal blend, and class entered. The Society is not providing labels to producers this year.

Please note that the Tamar Valley Wine Route will be conducting an Exhibitors' Tasting on the Society's behalf, on Saturday, 19 January (see further details below).  The Society and the TVWR invite interested exhibitors to submit an extra bottle of each wine, to be used for this tasting..

These additional bottles should be clearly labelled "ET".

 

2008 Show timetable

Judging will be conducted from Monday, 14 January to Thursday, 18 January.

There will be a public tasting of Gold Medal wines

          3rd Floor, Drysdale Institute, Launceston
          5-7pm, Wednesday, 16 January 2008
          Public - $30            2008 TWS exhibitors free
          Book with the Princess Theatre booking office - 6323 3666

          (The public tasting will be repeated in Hobart later - date to be advised.)

          Tickets - $100 per head
